In which she spends a fortnight out of it
Well, I have been up to so much in the past two weeks that I literally haven't had a chance to update my journal, but it does make life so much more exciting. This is the short version, and I will be expanding on each of the topics which have been keeping me so busy over the weekend.
Firstly, last week: what an awesome week! Derek and I made a snap decision to go on holiday before I started my new job, and we ended up in Fiji for the week! That was very very cool and you could even say I have a hint of colour which is quite unusual for me.
But wait, there's more! On Monday of this week I started my new job which is very cool also, but unfortunately on Tuesday I started to come down with a particularly nasty cold which got worse and worse despite my best efforts at containment until it forced me to go home early on Thursday, and even take Friday off! This was not a good look in the first week on the job, so naturally you understand that I was practically dying before I admitted defeat. I'm starting to come right (fingers crossed) but will not be going on my planned trip to the Mount with Sarah as resting in bed is so much more appealing.
So there you go, in a nutshell I have been out of the country or going to bed early for the past two weeks. And yes, they did have internet access in Fiji, but for 50c a minute I wasn't going to be using it!
So I''m back off to bed to recuperate, and maybe later I'll manage to expand on what I got up to in Fiji.
