Since Leap Day, the days of this year have lined up with 2019. I know it sounds stupid, but I wasn't quite ready for that. I hate seeing my Facebook memories from the time we moved here. This weekend marks five years since we moved to this address, which is hard for me to believe. That time still feels so fresh to me, in some ways. I remember hanging the curtains over the back door and installing the fire alarm in the hallway while we watched The Road to Avonlea, an old TV show from when we were kids that my roommate rented during our first weekend here. I remember listening to that and thinking, "Someday this will feel like a long time ago." And now, here it is five years ago. By our second weekend here, I was miserable and completely covered in the worst poison ivy rash ever, and I rented Mrs. Doubtfire. (We didn't have any streaming services then, which is also hard to believe.) I seriously can't believe that I made it for five years. That's the longest I've ever lived at a single address outside of the house I grew up in.

Anyway, on Friday night, we watched Big on one of our streaming channels, and on Saturday, we slept in and then went out to eat at Cracker Barrel. I don't think either of us had ever been before. We were both pretty stumped by the peg game at our table. After we ate, we browsed in the store part, and I bought some giant Smarties and other hard-to-find candies, and she bought a stepping stone with a gnome on it.

After that, we went to the library that we visit every Saturday. We usually sit at the same spot at the big communal table, but today, somebody had spilled something there and not wiped it up. So we sat at the other end, and I'm glad we did because right in my line of vision was a graphic novel version of Watership Down. I immediately got up, grabbed it off the shelf, and checked it out. I've been browsing through it and enjoying it. Some of the landscape drawings are so good. It was fun to recognize scenes that I've seen playing out in my head for so long, like when I saw the drawing of the rabbits at the little punt on the River Test.

Anyway, it was nice to have a relaxing weekend, because my job has really been eating me alive lately. The new system can be very frustrating and slow to work with, and everybody seems to hate it. My coworker K---- has been pretty darn annoying. She and A----- love to just sit around talking about how long they were in labor with their kids and other really asinine stuff. Ugh.

Currently reading Mary Jane and A Line in the Sand. Currently walking 2.7 miles a day according to the health app on my phone.
