In which the daffodils bloom and Rebecca's inhaler runs out again!

Guess where Rebecca was at 6:45 this morning? She was on her way to the 24-hour Walgreens for another asthma inhaler. Yes, I've been letting myself get caught without a fast-acting inhaler my entire adult life, and yes, I should know better by now. Nerak slept in bed with me last night (sometimes she can be a little stinker, but sometimes she can be SO sweet and cuddly), and her thick, long-haired coat makes me wheeze just a little more than Tovah's short, thin coat did. The store is supposed to be 24 hours, but it didn't open until 7 due to staff shortage, and it was a pretty miserable, wheezy wait in the chilly morning. I used my receipt survey to complain. But wow, did it feel so good to be able to breathe again once I finally got the inhaler. My shoulders were sore from all the huffing and puffing, so I drove home, put Tovah's old heating pad under my back (Nerak hasn't shown much interest in it), and went back to sleep. At least this didn't happen on a weekday!

It has been a blessedly mild February this year! We had some crappy days, but most of the month was so nice and sunny and mild. Just a few days ago, I found the first daffodils blooming in the backyard and saw Girl Scouts selling cookies down the street from my job! Two of my favorite signs of spring. Girl Scout cookies are more overpriced than ever, but I still pulled over and bought one box of thin mints and one of caramel delites. I'm hoping to start going for walks again next month.

We got to see Athena at the beginning of the month. She was passing through the area and spent the night with us. (Nerak has never really seen any humans besides us, and she was freaked out to have a visitor. She eventually came out, but she did for a long time first.) We ordered pizza, watched some of the Oscar-nominated short films for this year, talked, and caught up. One exchange that I want to remember:

Sara: Who's this a picture of on your homescreen? Is it Kurt Russell?
Athena: It's Jesus, Sara.
Sara: Oh. Well, it looked like Kurt Russell to me.
Rebecca: *died laughing*

It was great to see her again, but in a way, it was also kinda sad. We hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving, and who knows when we'll see her again. She spent just one night here and took off early the next morning. This didn't used to be all the family interaction that I ever had in life. Oh, well.

The only other noteworthy news around here (by which I mean not noteworthy at all) is that I've started making my own quesadilla-style wraps for lunch. Sometimes I really get tired of coming up with meals. I'm not much into cooking, and it's hard to find something low-effort that I don't get sick of.
