We listened to the scene in a restaurant recording that MFC gave me. Her instructions weren't very clear, so I didn't actually have the students do all the work they were supposed to. I played the tape and stopped frequently to discuss, ask questions, etc., but they were supposed to write their own dialogue and didn't. It seems like it would've been too difficult for them, anyway. But you can't keep blaming all your problems on MFC!
Some problems: Really, the recording was just not that interesting. It was difficult to keep the same few students from answering all the questions. Some asked questions about the seafood discussed on the tape that I couldn't answer. Towards the end, I asked them about the party the school had thrown for the boarding students the night before, which they were pretty easy to talk about.
