There's an outside chance that someone who reads my blog doesn't also have me as a friend on facebook, so I'll announce this here, too:
Today I signed the contract for Escape Pod to produce a podcast of my story, "DeShaun Stevens' Ship Log".
I'm downright giddy. Can't wait to hear my story being read aloud! I got the acceptance email on Monday but I made myself wait until the contract was delivered and signed and returned before letting the world know. I'm superstitious like that.
"DeShaun Stevens' Ship Log" is an epistolary tale in the style of "Bridget Jones' Diary", following the adventures of a sound and lighting technician on board a space cruise ship as he tries to keep his New Year's resolutions while the ship makes first contact with alien life.
