Last night, my sister Gracie gave me my Major Award she promised me back in early 2012 when she set me the goal of receiving 100 new rejection letters for short story submissions.

I wrote "DeShaun Stevens' Ship Log" early in 2012. I wrote the draft pretty quickly, one or two days. My goal, when I sat down at the word processor that day was to write something light and fluffy that I enjoyed writing.
