Life and stuff related thereto

Sweet. I have a boyfriend! Or the boyfriend has me. Something like that... maybe both. His name is Josh, he's smart, he's hot, he's funny, and he has this little dog named Spike (who we're thinking about renaming Gir, for the little robot from Invader Zim) that may find his way back to his original home soon. He's a stray, you see. A cute, sneezey mini Pinscher. As in, miniature Doberman Pinscher. And his farts can clear a room faster than pizza in the next room.

More about the boyfriend! He asked me out on wednesday, for Friday, which got complicated when I accepted without taking time to check my calender (figuring that I'd just clear whatever was that night) and it turned out I'd commited myself to going with Alex and Jill (his girlfriend) on their date (because they're mormon and aren't allowed to single date alone). Conflict! Best friend or date with boy I like?

Thought process as follows. Friendship before romance, but friendship would survive a cancellation for romance NO wait that's bad, have to stick with my guns on the bro's before hos thing... all right, so Alex and Jill need me Friday night, but I have a DATE...

Oh.

Call Alex. "Hey, is it cool if Josh and I double with you and Jill?"

It's cool, so on Friday we all go to a movie, which is sold out, then go to...

Shit, I can't beleive I forgot the name of the place. It was a really good steakhouse type place in Cincinnati, and I had this awesome virgin margarita called a texas margarita. The only food better than that margarita that I had was the portabella chicken... ok everything was good, and Josh is really nice, but not in a controlling way like some people can be.

Anyway, after that we head to a bowling alley, but it turns out that Jill's curfew is sooner than we thought so we go out and look for someplace to shoot some pool for 10-20 minutes before heading back to drop Jill off.

The concessions people at the bowling alley direct us to a place across the parking lot, which turns out to be a bar. Alex and Jill are moderately horrified. Jill's actually looking somewhat interested, but Alex starts talking about church standards and we head back to the car.

Apparently, mormons aren't even allowed in bars. Someone remind me to look up in scripture something about Jesus, the pope, and Joseph Smith Jr. all go into a bar...

Anyway. We all hang out, listen to music. Josh is being great, even though most of our ideas of fun are being thwarted by Alex and Jill's standards. It's all cool, though, so after listening to music in the car for a while we head back, drop Jill off at her place, and head back towards Wilmington.

Yep. Josh and I have spent quite a bit of time together since, not incessantly, but we really like each other and we get along well. I introduced him to Invader Zim, he likes it. I keep poking the subjects of gaming and anime... he seems embarrassed to be interested. Either that or he isn't interested at all and just wants to make me happy by being interested.

Yeah. So there's that. I'm kinda living with Nathan again... kinda really not liking it. Josh is interested in moving into my old spot if Fizzey doesn't catch up on his bills. I'm fine with that. He's a good guy, and he needs someplace closer to stay than his mom's and grandmother's, around Blan. His mom lives halfway to Mt. Orab.

Ali interrogated him and approves, but I'm not sure how well I should trust that. I mean, she's only dated two guys I approve of... those being Kyle and Pat. I also hear that she and Pat are kinda over... so I'll have to hear more on that.

So Josh and I are official, and I'm studying the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Hooray! It's a truly fascinating religion.

josh, friends, romance
