I am indulging in a good case of the sulks right now; today hath sucked mightily.
It started out okay, my sister and brother-in-law took my father and I out for breakfast at my favorite place. I was a little late meeting them because I was playing with my new toy: a Kobo eReader that my sister and company gave me for Christmas. I got it last night, but couldn't play with it yet because the reason that they were in town is because they have bought a condo in my building for my father's use in the winter and a vacation place and they drove over from the mainland with a u-haul full of Ikea furniture for us to assemble and arrange. (And when I say us, I mean largely my father and me, because they left town this evening with half of it yet to do.) So I charged it up and put it aside to play with after I had had some sleep.
This morning I played with it some more and started to get the hang of it with growing enthusiasm. I then went upstairs to spend the bulk of the day assembling furniture with my family and my saint-like roommate. All was going fairly well (which, considering my family and the personalities contained within, was pretty impressive) when,in searching for a missing screw for a drawer, I managed to wedge my fingernail between a metal plate and the footboard of the bed and pulled it back about 3/4 of a cm. Now I have pulled back nails before, but I have never actually had them *spurt* blood before. So off for bandages for me, trying not to bleed on the predominantly white (and what kind of nut who has two toddlers buys a roomful of *white* furniture?) upholstery.
One fingertip bandaid later I am reminded why I hate being down a fingertip: the trackpad on my computer is touch sensitive depending on the number of fingers you use so now I am constantly having to stop and start because it won't read the bandaged finger. Growl.
Then as a capper for the whole day I come in to console myself and play with my new toy only to find that it lights up for about five seconds and then goes completely dead. It won't turn on. It doesn't register anywhere in my computer. It doesn't appear to be charging. The shadow of the last page I was looking at is still up on it, but that's the only sign of life. I have done all of the recommended troubleshooting I can, which isn't much seeing as it can't play with either the hard or software and It Still Won't Work!!!
*snarls*
So now I have to go through all of the hassle of going through the system to get a replacement or get this one fixed without ever having even had the chance to enjoy it.
So therefore, I am going to climb into big, fluffy PJs and have a pleasant little snit. Hopefully tomorrow will be more enjoyable.
