This wasn't going to plan at all. Perhaps it was because Cassidy hadn't joined them this time. Or maybe it was because River was there--not likely, despite her propensity to be around when things went wrong. Methos was more prone to believe that it was just the fall of the cards. Today simply wasn't their day. Cursing, Methos hid behind a set of chairs as several deputies were able to board the still moving train and had opened fire on them. He didn't want to kill anybody, but other members of the Wild Bunch weren't so inclined. One deputy was already dead and Sam was seriously wounded.

He cursed yet again and made a quick exit to the next train car in search of River.
