It’s time for an Oh My Land recording update. This week Patrick, Nolan and I are working on recording acoustic guitar for all 18 songs on the Mayflower Twins album. Were taking our time on this album to insure that we get the cleanest and best sounding recording we can. Tuesday night we recorded all acoustic guitar for the first 9 songs, or the first half of the album. We are using my new Audix condenser microphones and Nolan and I are very pleased with the sound we are getting from the mics. Were using Kevin’s Martin acoustic guitar and its sounding great, really woody and warm sounding. This afternoon, Nolan and Pat are going to finish up recording acoustic to part 2 of the album. To review, so far we have recorded all the drums for the albums and we should finish the acoustic guitar today or at least by the end of the week. Next week or maybe this weekend we can get Mark Spin-sky in to record bass, followed by Kevin with electric guitar. I’m working here at the winery all day and tonight I’m pouring wine at the Cal Poly basketball game. It’s a big game against California rivals UCSB! Should be a fun experience, something different and I’m looking forward to seeing the game. Candle has a show coming up! Were playing at Sally Lou’s in San Luis Obispo on Sunday Feb 21st with a touring band from San Francisco, more on that a little later.
