[Jamie has dragged the large wooden chest from Two's TARDIS onto the Plane, and is currently occupied with pulling out the contents in a search for...something. Either the chest is completely crammed full of things, or like so many of the Doctor's belongings is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, as there is a quite a lot of stuff

[bends over and picks up that squishy green thing, eyeing it curiously. she holds on to it while she comes over to see what he's got there and carefully maneovres around the various items on the ground. shame she can't speak Norwegian, though. in Latin:]

What, are you doing a bit of spring cleaning, Jamie?

Donna! [He'd be happier to see her, but there's that language barrier again. He sighs, and switches to Japanese.]

I don't suppose ye... [He starts to slur the word a little, then shakes his head. Better to try and say it clearly, given everything.]

I don't suppose you can understand this?

[slowly, half to herself] Yeah... And I thought I'd heard everything.

[shakes her head, raising her voice a bit as she speaks] Sorry there, sunshine, I can't understand a single word you've said!

[Jamie pulls a face, then sighs. He makes a gesture like tying a bowtie, then musses up his bangs, and points at the chest. Just in case that's not enough, he then pulls his hands through his hair to make it look more spiky. Oh, and goes back to Norwegian because he likes it better.]

It's the Doctor's chest.

[Jamie might look up to find Mu looking over his shoulder. Once eye contact is made, Mu tilts his head ever so slightly in lieu of actually asking - because at this point, he's pretty damn sure nobody else he knows is speaking English.]

[Jamie does look up, and when he spots Mu, he gives him a look that seems to indicate he's well aware of the irony here, then points at the chest. But instead of miming something that might work as a translator, as one might expect, he makes a motion like he's climbing hand over hand up a rope.]

[Oliver heads over to him as well, speaking in Ceressian. he knows neither of them will understand him, but he's hoping his tone will speak for itself] Jamie? What's going on?

[Norwegian. Okay. That he can deal with.]

You think this, uh... this "doctor" will be able to figure out why suddenly no one can understand each other?

Not my Doctor. He's a wee bit... [Wait, he actually understood that. Congratulations, you now have Jamie's undivided attention.]

Hey! Ye...you understood what I said! I'd not thought I'd find anyone else who could.

[Hopefully this man can understand him back. Norwegian with a Scottish brogue is odd sounding, even when he's trying to talk as clearly as possible.]

We won't have to ask my Doctor, though. It's the Plane that's done this.

[Toki pokes at the green thing with a shoe, then shies away from it when it seems to poke back.

In frustrated Japanese:]

That is Norwegian. Why can't I understand Norwegian?

[And wonder of wonders, he understands Toki, too! Jamie looks pretty pleased with this development, and switches to Japanese.]

The Plane's gone and done something again. It's not just to me this time, though.

[He's pretty sure Toki gets that, however.]

I can't understand English or even the Gaelic I was talking to you with last time. Just that and...whatever this is.

[Holy crap, and Toki's somewhat intelligible. THIS IS A MIRACLE]

I can't understand English, either. Someone should fix things if they are broken.

Not knowing makes it confusing when I'm getting yelled at...

[Clearly they should celebrate with a drink! Oh no, wait. BAD IDEA.]

I'm hoping my Doctor can help think of something, but there's a wee problem with getting to him right now.

[She bends down to pick up the discarded green ... thing that rolled across the ground and came to a stop next to her feet.]

What are you doing?

[Unfortunately, since she can only speak binary at the moment, he is unlikely to understand her. And she certainly won't be able to decipher his response.]

[Oh, more of those numbers. Jamie doesn't have much hope she'll understand her, but switches to Japanese all the same.]

I don't suppose you...och, what's the use.

[He turns to the trunk, and pushes some things aside, trying to make it clear he's looking for something specific. Then makes a motion like he's pulling on a rope, then points to the trunk. Just to make sure, he adds in a hand over hand climbing motion. Hopefully that's enough to get across he wants a rope.]

[Although she didn't understand the language he used - or the language he changed to in a futile quest for understanding - Leela was able to guess what Jamie meant. She nodded, joining him next to the trunk and peering inside.]

[Jamie gives Leela a grateful look, then starts pulling random things out of the trunk - a feathered mask, a small drum, a tube filled with what appears to be hundreds of tiny lights that have since burnt out, and a bent whisk. The whisk proves to be a distraction. He stops searching to try and straighten it out, but it doesn't seem to want to budge. Frowning at the item, he sets it down next to him and sighs.]

Now how am I supposed to rescue the Doctor if I can't even find a wee bit of rope in here?
