Wikipedia, an open source encyclopedia (of sorts) has always had problems with "vandals" ruining otherwise useful articles.

That problem has exploded into the mainstream as a respected journalist discovered his "biography" entry had been altered to include charges that he was involved in the assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy.
