Worse than the Depression!

Everyone screaming that this is worse than the Depression can now rest easy. In one measure things are worse than they were in the Great Depression: the stock market. It is now falling faster than it did in back then.

I am of the opinion that Obama doesn't really care, either. You see, when Rahm Emanuel said that one should never let a crisis go to waste he meant it. By allowing (and helping) the market to crash they are creating millions of people who are more dependent on the government for help, whether it be from unemployment benefits, health care or retirement benefits.

Look for the DOW to fall even further. Obama won't act until the pain gets so great some of his allies (like the unions watching their own stock funds plunge in value) complain that the money they are getting from the "stimulus" plan is less than what they've lost in the stock market.

The important lesson from Nero isn't whether he fiddled while Rome burned, but that he didn't let the crisis go to waste. He built himself a huge palace on the burned-out area of Rome. Obama plans to do much the same; rebuilding a socialist America on the ashes of the capitalist one he is watching burn.
