Congressmen Pence:

I'll add my own story to this. Once upon a time a friend and I plopped several of our hard-earned dollars down for some toy that we "had to have". (So necessary that I've since forgotten the exact item.) Since the amount was just over a round dollar we each got back a handful of coins. My friend turned to me and exclaimed "look at all the change I got!"

I have to say if your wisdom hasn't progressed past the point of a small child you too may think that a few coins back from several dollars is a great deal and a "cut" in your taxes.

The rest of us, however, understand that government grabbing thousands of our hard-earned dollars from us and then tossing a $20 bill back so we can "get something nice" is not something to crow about.

Though I suppose there are certain types of people who enjoy that kind of treatment.

And for the record: Reagan's across-the-board tax cuts in late 1981 remain the largest this country have ever seen. And given the amount of time that has past since then, it is unlikely that they will soon be eclipsed.

tax cuts, big lie, congress, democrats
