The hornets are still alive.
I can't believe it. Only this morning I had the exterminator in. He smiled and said he did see a few, and then happily blasted the place with some more insecticide.
I come home this evening, wondering to myself if he fixed everything and I'll be able to keep the window open for a while. But eventually I succumbed to the heat, closed all windows in the house, and just to see if any hornets are left, I lifted my blinds all the way to the top. Then I started the air conditioner.
All of a sudden an angry cloud of hornets burst from the nest. It was like Hitchcock's Birds. Soon after filming this, one even managed to get inside (despite the closed windows!)
I know, I know, horrible quality. It was done with just a simple hand camera which is intended for stills, not for video. And through a window. So you can't actually make out the individual hornets. But I hope you can imagine how I feel right now.
