If you can't say something, at least do an emoticon

Some TV I've been watching:

- Badults Series 2, episodes 2 and 3 - pretty good.  I really liked episode 2 especially.  Badults might be cheesy and not edgy in the least but it makes me laugh a bit and smile a lot.  And Katherine Ryan wasn't unbearable in episode 3, maybe because her character was supposed to be annoying.  Already with you on that one, Badults -

EXCEPT:  Katherine Ryan might not be so annoying after all?? !!!

That's right, you heard me.  What prompted this change of heart was seeing her as a guest on Alan Davies' chat show last night, where she was actually amusing and quite likeable. Maybe now I'll look at her in a different light (I said maybe, because she was fairly irritating on last week's 'Mock The Week').

- On the subject of 'Mock The Week', I don't know how impressed I was with episode 1.  Ed was hilarious as usual, I could watch hours of him and Dara bouncing off each.  But nobody else really made me laugh.  Hugh Dennis and Andy Parsons are looking increasingly stale, although I feel mean for saying that because I have a soft spot for both of them.  Episode 2 has a better line-up of guests though (Sara Pascoe and Josh Widdicombe, as well as Gary Delaney whose one-liners are sharper and funnier than Milton's), so hopefully it'll perk up a bit.  Dave have been showing a lot of older MTWs lately and I forgot just how funny Frankie Boyle was on them.

- And as for 'Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled'...What really surprises me is how fresh this feels.  Considering it's basically a chat show, it feels like a completely new thing, and I honestly think it's because the guests are sat round a table with drinks instead of on a sofa like normal chat shows.  It feels very natural and informal - Alan doesn't have any autocue or cards with questions on them, it's just an honest chat between five people (Alan joins in too, which I think is also pretty new for a chat show host).  Actually, do you know what it reminds me of?  My parents, when they had friends over for dinner, used to sit and drink and exchange stories just like this into the early hours.  In short, this is a very good programme and you should all watch it.
