"Spontaneous, unpredictable and wildly funny..." - well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad

So, 'Alexander Armstrong's Big Ask'.

i) Quite a loose format, which is to be expected, I suppose.  Rubbish opening sequence.  Bit of a shit set.
ii) DAVE LAMB!  I think it was the Mirror that used the words 'criminally underused'.
iii) Good guests.  But jeez, how old does Robert Webb look?  Look at that bald patch!  He looks nearly older that Griff Rhys Jones.
iv) Nearly everyone I know hates Katy Brand.  Am I the only one that finds her amusing in a warm, friendly way?
v) Alexander Armstrong brings a great deal to this.  Without him as the host, it could be verging on dull, but he's very good.
vi) I don't get the point of them writing the answers on iPads.  Why not just say it out loud?

All in all - it's mainly banter built around an 'informal quiz' setting, sort of a cross between QI, Pointless and a chat show.  The guests and Armstrong really made this - if they can get strong guests every week, it'll be great to watch the series as it progresses.  It's fairly good fun - not hilarious by any stretch of the imagination (I doubt anyone was spitting out mouthfuls of drink mid-laugh during this), but it's decent enough on a night where the only other choice of TV programme is the interminable 'Britain's Got Talent' results.
