Friends, How do you keep them really? How do you know a true friend from not? I don't really have a best friend, or someone i could consider a best friend. I do have friends but if i don't reach out to them they forget about me. Are they a bad friend or i'm just forgettable (the latter is really depressing though...LOL ( Read more... )

How old are you? 4th graders are evil. Everybody got along before that. I think kids might be starting out younger these days with being mean cause they're pushed to grow up sooner. It's the time when kids realize they don't have to be polite and nice to everybody if noone's there to make them. They realize that it makes them feel good to put others down, and hopefully they grow out of it, though some never do, which is why, I think, some of the behaviors you mention happen. But I also think that sometimes when you feel excluded, it's not because your friends have purposely tried to do so, they might not realize that you want to join them. Doesn't hurt to try reaching out to them? Not that I have any real answers, but I think to an extent, that's what we're all trying to figure out, especially in this day and age where making real connections seems to be getting harder and harder. I see you! Or at least your shoes! :P

i'm 27 already, i have learned to accept that i'm a loner, a homebody with books as "close friends",but of course you still wonder sometimes how to be a people person.

this was actually inspired by my little niece(cousin's daughter) who's experiencing peer pressure. After hearing her story, it all came back to me. I remembered everything and i got depressed haha weird right? i even forgot to pay attention to spellings and grammars, i just wanted to send this piece to the void and forget about these feelings. It's like therapy ;)

Close friends are hard to come by. They are usually the genuine, real ones who will always be there through ups and downs. They are usually the ones who slaps your face hard (even when it hurts) to wake you up to reality in those times when you need that. I was just metaphorically speaking in that sentence there okay? Please don't take that literally. Anyways, suffice it to say that I do not have a close friend myself. The one I had was when I was in grade 6. We stayed close up to when I turned 20. When I moved to another city that closeness ended because of not communicating regularly but until now we're still friends just not as close as we were before. Quite sad.

I also have a close friend, just one girl all through High School. We tried to keep in touch when we went to collage but she was a nurse I was an Optometrist, she got caught up with internship (looong hours), i got caught up with finding our required 100 patients/semester with different cases that we lost touch. Now she's in Maryland, I'm in Manila. It is sad.
