Rilla of Ingleside was published in 1921, and presumably written during World War I. It's the last official book in the series, although it was the sixth book LMM wrote. According to Wikipedia, it's the only Canadian novel written from a women's perspective about the First World War by a contemporary. Fair warning: you may want to get your tissues out.
