It's time to put on my big girl underwear and get to work. Yes, it's technically January...6th and I figured it's about time to get my resolutions in place and get moving.
1. Read! With my television in the basement, I have no more excuses for not doing something that I love immensely. The following will be read and/or finished:
- Sherman Alexie's Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian and Ten Little Indians
- Richard Rodriguez's The Last Discovery of America
- Euripides's tragedies (god bless him for writing about the women of the Trojan War!)
- Ibsen's Hedda Gabler and Doll's House
- Rushdie's Satanic Verses and Ground Beneath Her Feet
- Gunter Grass's Tin Drum, Cat and Mouse, and Dog Years
- Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood and What I Talk About When I Talk About Running
- Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse
- Aleksandar Hemon's Lazarus Project
- Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth and The Namesake
- David Malouf's An Imaginary Life
- Juan Rulfo's Pedro Paramo
- Hummingbird's Daughter
- Dear Ovid's Heroides
2. I will be early to work. I've been pushing the limits for a while and it's time to get back to some sort of professionalism. Damn...
3. Complete the Madison Marathon.
4. Not live in fear...fear of my strengths or fear to be vulnerable.... not sure how this one will play out. But, I'm turning 30 this year and I'll be damn if I continue to live in fear of public opinion, failure or rejection.
5. Sleep more.
