Characters: Bruce, Shizuru
Setting: Some coffeehouse downtown
Time: The Wednesday Afternoon Following
This Post Summary: Bruce agreed to meet Shizuru for lunch so that they could get a feel for each other! If nothing else, it'd be an interesting - if brief - meeting.
Warnings: None at the moment; will update if necessary.
This was the second meeting he'd scheduled with a teenage shard-hunter since he'd arrived. Felix had been right: there was a disturbing lack in adult figures among the off-worlders. He'd noticed a few children (Kukai Souma's list hadn't eluded him) and a smattering of teenagers, but no real "adult" influences that were positive. If nothing else, this deeply bothered him.
Not that he'd let it show today. He was going to meet Shizuru! Part of him was actually intrigued by her. How could someone be a living shard detector? It wasn't impossible - he'd learned to rule out the impossible after learning about magic from Zatanna - but it was still something completely unexpected. (Also, he noted, people here had a disturbing tendency to leave everything unfiltered. They were so... trusting of each other.)
Calmly walking into the coffeehouse, he ordered a cafe lait and waited for his drink - and Shizuru, of course - to arrive. If nothing else, he'd at least try to enjoy this meeting.
