- Sonata Arctica's new CD will be out the week after I get back from ProgPower. Woot. And supposedly there will be a single in August as well. Though I've never been a fan of the songs they chose as singles other than "Don't Say a Word". Ah well ( Read more... )

There really is no time to edit, I'm in the same boat. I come home exhausted after work, and then on my days off I want to actually sit for a little while and do stuff aside from 'work', which is sorta what I classify editing as... feh... I'm sure they'll be worth waiting for, I can't wait to hear all about everything you saw.

I'm worried for GR and Helloween too... I noticed on that article Gamma Ray didn't even have even a tentative mention of a release date in fall, so I wonder if that means it's going to be even longer... I'm really not happy about it, but that doesn't mean they won't get it out. I just hope that whatever happens, they can sign to another label if they have to and be taken care of... Seeing that article today did nothing but put another rock in my stomach...

I did read something the other day that Metal Church, who are also on SPV, are calling it quits pretty soon. The original statement made it sound like SPV was completely to blame, but I guess it's only partial.

I hope that's just a very isolated incident as far as bands are concerned, and that the other bands do ok regardless.

And yeah, I think Helloween and Gamma Ray will have no problems finding another label...

I'm worried for Helloween and Gamma Ray too, but I agree they're big names in power metal and would be easy for them find other label and get signed soon. But there are many small bands in SPV and probably this won't be so easy for them... :( is very sad, because the "big" labels aren't interested in metal and little bands and we will start to miss some bands and releases for this kind of problems.
