- Sonata Arctica's new CD will be out the week after I get back from ProgPower. Woot. And supposedly there will be a single in August as well. Though I've never been a fan of the songs they chose as singles other than "Don't Say a Word". Ah well.
- My Blind Guardian pics from Gods of Metal are crappy. Well ok, no crappy but really grainy. It sucks having a camera that only does 4x zoom. I was too far on the left side to get Hansi because he never wandered over to our side. Bugger. I haven't decided if I'll upload them to Flickr or not.
- Speaking of Italy, I need to sit down and write up a recap of it. I won't really need to focus that much on Gods of Metal since I already did the actual concert recap while I was still in Italy. Mostly I want to focus on the other stuff that I did there. Now if I could get off my lazy ass and actual edit the ten trillion pics I took, then I would be happy. Seriously, there isn't enough hours in the day to do them and work. Lame.
- SPV's problems just keep mounting up. I'm scared for both Helloween and Gamma Ray because both could be out of a label if SPV doesn't find some way to get outside backing. Without it, they can't support the bands when they tour. The bands would have to pay for it themselves which really isn't possible for Helloween or Gamma Ray. They're big names in the Power Metal field but in the grand scheme of things in the world of music they're small fry. They don't make enough on tour to be able to pay for it without label support. That is, unless they just played around Germany. World tours would be out of the question.
- It's weird but random songs by Sonata Arctica keep taking over my brain. Sometimes it's "Don't Say a Word" and other times it's songs that don't usually like "Gravenimage" or "The Ruins of my Life". I know I've been listening to them a lot lately. Like every day at work and once I get home. In the span of two months, they rose from #78 to #11 on my overall artists list via Last.fm. That's a good 1500+ plays in order to do that. Freaky.
