Today I found a winning ticket!

Once we reached our cruising altitude on today's flight from Columbus to Phoenix, the flight attendants told us all to look in the seat pockets in front of us and look for a pair of Southwest Airlines wings.  If we found the wings, we could trade them in for a free cocktail!  And lo and behold, I had a winning seat ( Read more... )

Today started with a book on the legal culture of northern New Spain between 1700 and 1810 and ended in a bar.  Same old story.  It's nice to know a guy who knows a guy who's a bartender and doesn't charge your group for those sixteen beers...
