So, police in Wilmington, South Carolina, shot to death a teenager suspected of stealing two PlayStation 3s from another teenager who had waited in line for three days to buy them. Pop quiz: which of the three parties involved, the theft victim, the shooting victim, and the police, do you think played too much Grand Theft Auto?
My natural liberal sympathies for victims of excessive police tactics don't stand a chance with this one. As the victim of a videogame-related theft (my first PS2 and its memory card, which contained many hours of my life, were stolen during the famed Easter Robbery of 2005), I'm not the most objective observer, so I'm trying to contain my praise for the police officers...
