My natural liberal sympathies for victims of excessive police tactics don't stand a chance with this one. As the victim of a videogame-related theft (my first PS2 and its memory card, which contained many hours of my life, were stolen during the famed Easter Robbery of 2005), I'm not the most objective observer, so I'm trying to contain my praise for the police officers...
