This is a nice first take on your neighborhood. You did a good job giving a stranger a feel for the place, people and problems. It is fine for an informal first draft - for more formal writing, and later drafts, you will need to take greater care about capitalization ("prospect expressway"),missing letters ("I grown "), punctuations, etc.

I wasn't sure what you meant by this : "A down side to this neighborhood is that most of the parks and recreational nightly activity such as restaurants, bars, clubs, pool halls, bowling alleys, and movie theaters are located around the area." - why is that a downside?

Overall, nicely done - good start.
