Sunday my family and I went to see Live Free or Die Hard. The most mindless, awesomely shameless, over-saturated action flick I've ever seen! Bruce Willis must have had 5 several-story falls onto hard cement and not so much as a limp. He fell from a jet plane....and Timothy Olyphant as the cyber-nerd turned slick badass villain was perfect. AND he's gonna be the film-adaptation of the comic book Hitman... my little Olyphant is hitting the bigtime, ya'll.

Yesterday I read and read and read over and over the Edmund monologue from King Lear, and Scotland Road, which Claire is going to expertly direct at the end of summer/beginning of fall and which is gonna be so sweet! Then my mom and I cooked a big fancy dinner together of all recipes at Lilette...which has been teaching me a lot about how to cook in general, therefore the main dish was my own recipe! A pan seared tilapia with beet greens, haricots verts, grilled vidalia onions, grape tomatoes, and a balsamic butter....so rather inspired by Chef John's flavors, but still my own.

I spent this afternoon driving around dowtown Houston, looking around shoppes and relaxing! Houston was super confusing at first but I started to figure it all out pretty quick. Rice has a beautiful campus, and Htown seems to have a lot to do....still ain't no New Orleans.

I had an awesome Vietnamese dinner at Kim Son, which I don't think is the same as we have on the Westbank of Nola, and not quite as amazing, but still pretty damn good. Then Morgan and I went to her favorite joint called Brasil, which is a coffee bar with wine and beer where I had ginger beer and chocolate mousse! We sat on the back patio in the breeze and caught up. I forgot how funny that girl is; props to you, Morgan.

In all, this little Houston Vay-cay has been a good bit of R&R (besides my car's alternator freaking out last night which was easily fixed today).
