A Day Off

Jun 19, 2005 23:16

So, I have a day off. I've had a heavy work schedule that should not have been nearly as heavy as it was. But of course, it was my fault. But...I'll start off where I left off:

I actually haven't posted since last Wednesday, so on Thursday, I had my regular doctor appointment in Milwaukee. THAT was an annoyingly long day (annoyingly is not a word, unfortunately). Anyways, I had to get there by 8:30 because I was getting my stupid stomach tube converted into a much smaller, more convenient and unnoticeable size. It's delightful now. So then I had to stick around until my schedule appointment at 12:00. They said they'd try to get me in early, but of course, they didn't. That's why I hate them so much, it wasn't even busy at all. Anyways, I was there until about 2:30. Then my mom and I went out to lunch, and then we went and looked at the new car she's getting. Pretty sexy car, if I might say. The rest of last week is a blur because it was last week. I probably worked some. The Kentucky people left on Saturday. Strangely, I didn't give a flying crap this time. I was really annoyed the entire week they were in Myrtle Beach. Ironically, although I like the Kentucky trip better, I didn't really give a crap this time. So I guess I worked, and that's all I remember.

Tuesday was the last day I had off of work. I had a church league softball game that night. I kicked butt at 2nd base. If I might say, I was worthy of a Gold Glove at 2B for that one. I made three diving/leaping/running catches, all of which hurt my hand really bad because the softball is so big, it's hard to get into the pocket of your glove. Anyways, Park Hills beat Faith United Methodist 6-3. We're now 2-0. Wednesday, I worked. This was the beginning of my long week of work. I was supposed to work 4-8 with Tim and Erin closing. I came in, and Tim had been there since 10:30, so I assumed he'd ask me to close since that is a LONG shift. I offered to close, and he accepted. It really didn't bother me. Usually, I'd say no. BUT...the Cubs had already played, and Erin was closing, and she's just a lot of fun. So, I closed. Thursday, I worked from 4-8 again with Kim and Erin closing. THIS time, I didn't offer to close, but I ended up pretty much closing anyways. I stuck around to eat a sandwich, and I was there until 9:30. I noticed they were WAY behind, so I decided to stay and help them out...without getting paid. We were all there until 11:00. So...there goes both of my 8:00 nights down the drain. So Friday, I had to close with Tim, with Amanda coming in at 5 and leaving at 8 (the pathetic shift). I originally had the weekend off, but I asked Kim if I could close for he on Saturday in return for her closing for me on another night down the road. She agreed, so I went in to close on Saturday with Erin. Like I said, she's a lot of fun. I love picking on her. ;-) I was in overdrive right from the beginning. I finished eight containers of boats in about 20 minutes. I was trying to get as much done right away as I could, so we could sit down for like 3 hours and do nothing. I brought my yearbooks, some cards, and some candy...so we did sit down for a long time and just play cards and look at my yearbooks and stuff. We were blessed that night because we really weren't busy at all. She's a real cutie. She keeps telling me she doesn't like me, but we all know it's sarcasm caused by my persistent picking.

So today, I finally got a day off. Then, tomorrow, it's back to the workplace to close with Kim. Then, Tuesday I get another day off to go to the Cubs game. My dad's driving the church bus, so he got some free tickets, so my brother and I are going with. Then, I work 5 straight days again. Speaking of the Cubs, they were doing GREAT for a while, and now they suck. They won 7 in a row, and then they won on and off a bit, and now they've lost 4 in a row. I have NEVER hated the Yankees any more than I do now, AND the stupid 1st base umpire who blows all the calls. I SERIOUSLY imagined myself jumping onto the field with a bat and blowing Alex Rodriguez, Mike Mussina, Gary Sheffield, Hideki Matsui, Derek Jeter, and the 1st base umpire into the ground. I'm dead serious, I would have loved to if I was in the Bronx. It has little to do with the fact that they swept the Cubs, and more to do with the fact that they are stuck up losers who are NOT loyal to their teams (that comment is based on Alex Rodriguez's comment "I will stay loyal to the Texas Rangers" mere days before he sold his soul to the devil-Yankees). Anyways, hopefully they do well. Kudos to Derrek Lee and his .389 batting average.

Anyways, there's my spiel after a week and a half of silence. Later!
