The Making of a Custom Dasha Figure

Aug 14, 2010 13:21

So. I have ordered about 100$ worth of stuff for making my own Dasha figure. I was putzing about the internet for awhile one night off where I had nothing to do, and somehow I stumbled on Obitsu figures. They are 27 cm vinyl bodied dolls. I guess you are probably thinking of dollfies, but these are far less creepy. They are vinyl instead of porcelain, and are way cheaper, but still very customizeable. They are a type of BJD (ball jointed doll) like, really nice figmas , or well...an artist's wooden doll. The are about the size of a barbie/ ken doll., so clothing is easier to find/make, and way cheaper.

I just really want a dasha doll, and it will be fun to paint his face, cut his hair, make an eyepatch and even eventually sculpt horns and ears for him. The first trial head, I just got eye decals, so you put them on kind of like stickers. Its more like an anime figure than a dolfie I suppose. I will definatly update with lots of pictures of the process, because I think it will be fun.

Obitsus look more like this~

Generally...less creepy in my opinion.

http://parabox.jp/eng/  is the website I got most of my stuff from. They have lots of tutorials and a helpful forum too. I think this will at least be a fun project and lord knows I have wasted 100 dollars on far less promising things.

Haters gonna hate, but you know you guys would totally want a customized figure of your personal character. That wasn't as creepy as a dollfie.
