I'm helping a comparatively less tech-savvy friend acclimatize to his Zune and I have to say - jeezus christ, you people suck. By "you people" I mean not just the Microsoft employees that put this piece of shit together but everyone that allowed so much DRM, OS bloat and other nonsense to creep into the larger mp3 culture.
Can someone, anyone, explain to me why all mp3 players don't support drag-and-drop functionality? Why does a Zune need its own OS, an installation CD and even its own fucking player? It doesn't even coordinate with Windows Media Player for fuck's sake!!
I own two players: a Creative MuVo TX FM, 128 MB and a Creative Zen Microphoto, 8GB. I own approximately ... wait.
*looks*
456 tracks of music in varying formats (Gross underuse yes, but that's how I roll.)
While I bitched about the latter
when I first got it, it still only took me about ten minutes to figure out its ins and outs. This one? I started 48 hours ago and literally just figured out how to copy files from the computer to the player manually (as opposed to the damn thing grabbing every goddamn image file and music track on my system). In short, I want the damn thing doing what *I* want, not what the brain-donors that came up with this picture:
think I want.
DO NOT fucking "sync" with my system and grab every compatible file you find. DO NOT set up a basket (well, library) to house my songs on your pathetic WMP-lite Zune-only player just to add an extraneous extra step to an already needlessly-oblique process. DO NOT have a Zune-only player. DO NOT forget to put a delete function on the player itself.
CHRIST!!!
