We made it through the Christmas party-- Josh actually golfed! Crazy, hmm? I was forced to endure a mani/pedi and a Swedish massage. I would have been happy to stay on that heated massage table all day long. I'm not sure the kids actually realized we were gone; my mom was here to stay with them and they had a blast. Max almost didn't let her go back home today.
The tree is up... I still need to put the lights on the house, but I'm hoping it will get a little warmer before I attempt that. Max & Khai had a good time digging through all of the boxes of decorations-- for a while there it looked as if Christmas had thrown up all over my living room. My poor tree has made it through ten years now, but I think it will be retiring in January. Hopefully I will find a nice, big, pre-lit tree on sale after the holidays-- the fewer strings of lights I have to untangle, the better.
Susan posted a link to
Weird Al's Wikipedia entry today, and not moments after reading that we happened to be flipping channels and catch Weird Al performing
White and Nerdy live on
VH1. It made me so, so, so happy. We were lucky and caught it while trying to escape The 700 Club (aka Scary TV), which comes on immediately after
Whose Line Is It Anyway. There is always a mad scramble to change the channel as fast as humanly possible as soon as it's on. I might be addicted to Whose Line-- Santa promised me that
Ryan and
Colin would be under my tree Christmas morning.
