I realize my last entry wasn't all that clear on what happened with Drake. I actually realized it as I wrote it, but I seemed to want it that way at the time.
Drake's heart stopped sometime Friday evening. The doctors induced labor shortly after that & he was delivered early Sunday morning. imdrkangel, myself & select close family members got to spend ( Read more... )

imdrkangel's platelets were down again yesterday & the doctors were ready to do a c-section. It was scheduled for 4PM. More labs were done at 3PM to see if she could have an epidural & other stuff. The platelets were back over 100k for the afternoon labs, so the c-section was canceled ( Read more... )

Well, apparently the big concern yesterday morning (that caused the doctors to want to deliver then) was that the labs they did on imdrkangel in the morning showed her platelet count below 100,000. She made them wait until another set of labs could be done & the results showed her platelets above 100k again (108). Then this morning they were at 113, so ( Read more... )

It looks like Drake will be delivered today, a little shy of 24 weeks.
Send us good thoughts, prayers, hopes, wishes, dreams, favors from the gods, whatever you got... we'll need them all.

Well, imdrkangel is back in the hospital. It's looking like she'll probably be there until Drake is born. She has HELLP Syndrome, which is apparently a variant of pre-eclampsia & has the same "cure" (delivering the baby). She's 23 weeks pregnant now, so if they had to deliver the baby now, he has little to no chance of surviving. We're hoping for at ( Read more... )
