A crossroads... NEED OPINIONS!!
An old friend just let me know of something that could be my ticket for a "NEW" life.
Apparently, I may have been wrong about Massachusettes. Boston FD may have screwed me in the back but my friend told me Worcester FD is looking for me and would love to accept me.
I'm currently in talks with the Worcester Fire Department, and if it is true of a guaranteed spot, including paid academy time... this may be the opportunity I was looking and hoping for.
So far it's known that the salary starts well over $50k, it has city benefits (may not be as good as my hospital benefits now), includes a pension plan, etc.
Obviously, this will entail me to move up to MA, and live. Sucks I have to leave NJ, but dammit it's too fucking expensive here... Emergency Services are DEAD-END here... and amongst other things. However, I still love the state, I will say they make it almost impossible to live here for people like me (who bust our asses), yet the dirtbags in Trenton live scot-free. Gotta love it.
This could be my dream... a Firefighters' position in a big city.
So now here comes the opinion part:
"Should I go for it?!"
You see, I have been doing some thinking.... I need off the ambulance... like NOW! I'm completely burnt. I never liked the ambulance to begin with, now I just hate it more. The whole reason I became an EMT was to be a PAID FF!!
I'm tired of being a taxi cab for assholes who just need a day out of the house... Im tired of being on line for lunch and getting hit out for a belly ache... fuck that! I'd rather do fire alarms all day than to lug a 500LB. beefalo down 2 flights of steps because her fucking ASS has a zit!! GOD DAMN IT, I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!
What pisses me off more is that these people dont even have to pay for the fucking Taxi ride that we provide... most have medicare or medicaid... which most of the working population knows we provide money for those things with our own hard earned money!!!
WHY THE FUCK MUST I BUST MY FUCKING ASS TO PAY $$ TO MEDICARE WHEN, MARY J. ROTTENCROTCH, NEEDS A TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE SHE LIKES THE FOOD.... WHEN I FUCKING PROVIDE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!???
So actually I pay double... not only to I pay for her fucking BULLSHIT ride to the hospital...BUT I FUCKING TAKE HER THERE AS WELL!!!!
