With a server crashing very early tuesday morning, My new job has been keeping Me on My toes, and away from home for the entire week.
10-12 hour days and LOTS of irate customers that wont stop calling.
A surprising lack of Stupid User Tricks though, and that's a good thing.
To top it all off, I'm on call, and have a work cell-phone that starts ringing at about 6 AM, and doesn't stop until around 9,
the only plus to being onn call is the boost it makes to the paycheck. All on call work is considered Overtime, and over the past 6 days, I've put in 12 hours of that, on top of the 52 I worked during the regular week... the first full paycheck oughta look really nice. :-)
Surprisingly, the VOIP side of the business is generating very little in the way of technical support calls, which leaves all of My time for building a new server and migrating all of the very upset customers...
The comute isn't very fun, but the paychecks are going to make up for it.
On the home side of the equation, the large paychecks may accelerate My plans for a return to independant living... we'll see...
