Return of Interweb!
Been without internet for the last week and it's been pissing me off. I would have a connection for maybe 15 minutes, long enough to check email or look up something, then it would die. Things like itunes or LJ were just too much for the weak connection even during those 15.
In the meantime I spent my (few free) evenings working on cosplay. Finished Sheryl's skirt (hate pleats!) and butt bow. The bow came out smaller than I had hoped, but it's nice and fluffy so it should keep it's shape. My mom thinks it's hilarious that I sip a beer while working (she thinks I can't make straight stitch lines while drinking, ye of little faith).
Last weekend was a nice break after a stressful work week. Friday Commie and I saw Star Trek on a whim (I wasn't really feeling up to seeing a movie)....and I FREAKING LOVED IT. The casting for the "younger" crew was spot on, and I love how Leonard Nimoy got more than just a brief cameo. Makes me want to rewatch TNG. Commie was surprised I called red parachute guy biting it :P
Saturday we helped Amanda move into the apartment. Call me crazy, but I actually like moving. Yes, it's annoying to carry all that stuff, but there's this sense of starting again, I enjoy it. We also had this rockin' specialty pizza and really dry beer, and I ALMOST didn't forget to say "last card" during a game of asshole. I'll get it one day!
The official date for when I move in is June 30 (when Rob's stepbrother moves out). I'm pretty psyched! I'm glad I could wait until nearly July, I know my mom understands that I need to move out, but the timing is hard. Since I work nearby I can stop in for dinner a few nights a week, so the transition won't be that bad.
Amanda is right, we need to girlify this place bad....and anime up the joint too ;)
