What is missing in this run up to the elections

According to some lite research (I some how edited this point out of my original post) on the US census website, as of 2007 there were 80 million households in the US. If we assume 3 people to a household the math comes out about right. I figure a $1 a piece to bulk mail something like a platform out. I would bet a lot more people would read something that was substantial enough to layout a vision of the next 4-6 yrs than some stupid post card that looks like junk mail. None the less I did some poking around and could not easily find platforms on the websites, although I did not google for "platform." So I will try the google approach, as the websites both seem a little childish for my taste.

eh...i hate to disagree w/you my darling, but i think she is right. most people just aren't that interested in what they are actually voting on. i mean how hard is it to look it up on the internet? or to listen to debates? besides that's a lot of trees that people will just chunk into a landfill...

We have had an excellent example of what RS is talking about during the last 36 hours or so. McCain says he wants to delay the planned Friday debate so that we can all focus on a big ol' bandaid for the hemorrhaging economy. Obama, in a widely replayed sound bite, says that in times like these politicians owe it to the electorate to tell them what they are going to do and that those cut from presidential material need to demonstrate that they can do more than one thing at a time
