What is missing in this run up to the elections

let me start by saying I do not know who I am going to vote for yet. However, I have been paying some attention to what is going on in the news the past few months and these are my general thoughts. If you want me to vote for you tell me what your vision is for this country, what path would you like to take it down, how do you plan to meet your objectives. Convince me that you are the person for the JOB! Send me in the mail a proposal, like you would submit to a funding agency for a grant! I do not want to hear about how you are better than the other guy(s). I want to see you develop a vision on paper. Convince me that you and your team are intelligent enough to be trusted with my country. Resorting to calling the other candidates names, only proves to me that you are still on a playground in elementary school and you are concerned that the other people may not like you so you are looking for someone to bully around. Once you have completed your proposal submit it to me and all the citizens in the US via the US mail. Give us a few weeks to digest your proposal and then start touring the country reminding people of what you sent them and answering questions that they have. That is how you run a campaign, that is how you convince someone that you are the guy for the job, not just the only option. Really when was the last time that you did not vote for someone that was nothing more than a playground bully? Sure we convince ourselves that we are picking the best candidate, the one we think is best for this country, but really we pick the bully that wins the boxing match (in our eyes).
