It's been a long time.....
It's been a while since I've written anything on here, as Crissy reminded me of that. (Thanks ;))
Hmmm... I'll start with everything else than what's going on with me. Nancy's working her ass off at school. She's got a 95% average right now in her Business Administration w/ E-commerce management course. (damn that's a long name for a course). She's also been working like 4 days a week cause she's a work-aholic.
Some rather upsetting news is that one of our degu's died, Mikey, he was about 6 year's old (no one really knew his age). We saw it coming weeks in advance, but he passed on about 3 days before christmas. (R.I.P. Mikey..... *tear rolls off my cheek*) And um yeah, the dogs are happy and stuff so that's good.
But yeah, so I'm sure your wondering whats been happening with me in the last little while. Well, I finished my first semester of classes with a 94% average. I'm pretty proud of that, although I know I could have done a bit better. (Yeah, I'm a geek) Second semester started 2 weeks ago. Some of the classes I have are really sweet! Some are kinda so-so. But this one class, Intro to Digital Film (really it's an intro to using Adobe Premiere Pro), so far we've done nothing but waste 2 - 3hour classes. The teacher doesn't know the software (and fully admitted it at the beginning of the semester). He's been trained on Final Cut which is MAC specific. Our department head at some point last semester decided that we should learn Premiere because most of us use PC's, which was a good though, but he should have gotten a teacher that knows the software.
(SIDE NOTE: MMMMMMMMMMMMMM COOOOFFFFEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
The two classes that are kinda so-so are my Internet Marketing class (IM) and my Interface Design class (ID). IM is really boring because so far we haven't really "learnt" anything, we more just discuss what WE think about certain ads that companies have come up with. Not my idea of the best way to learn this stuff. But my ID class is a bit more fun, we basically sit in groups and rag on bad websites and point out how they are so not user friendly. Then we discuss the ways things can be done to make web sites quick and easy to use (which is the way they should be).
My VGA class (Vector Graphic Animation) is by far my favorite class. This is the one where we learn Macromedia Flash (I guess it's Adobe Macromedia Flash now.... lol). My only issue with it is that most people are having a hard time understanding the program so i'm finding myself doing a lot of thumb twiddeling. (and helping when i get bored of that).
Now, THE hardest class that I have right now is CG200 (Computer Graphics 200). The project were working on right now is pretty intense and requires an immense amount of time. (something I don't really have). We've basically taken a picture of a car off the internet, and we have to re-create it using Adobe Illustrator. The final result has to look as real as possible. I think so far I've spent 3 hours on just the front bumper alone, and it's still looking a little flat in colour, not so real like.
So yeah, that's my school life right now, which is actually my only life... *pout*. I'm only working 2 days a week at Vern's now, which really sucks cause i'm completely broke ALL the time. Like, I get paid tomorrow, prolly gonna be something like $250 (yippee.... that's sarcasm if you can't tell... ;) ) and I think $100 of that has to go to my parents for groceries and what not, $75 has to go to my account for my loan, and the other $75 is what i have to get me to and from school till the 5th, as well as my spending money. So yeah, kinda wish i had some REAL work right now. Then I could have lots of spending money and be able to start paying back money I owe to the millions of different places... not to mention money I can put towards the $5000 worth of software and hardware I need right now in order to be able to do my homework at home. LOL.
So that's pretty much whats be going on with me for the last little while. I don't expect much is going to change in the next few months. So I think i'm going to take a cue from Henry (to some degree) and use this as a place to rant and ramble and just vent shit. I will however give an update once and a while on how things are with school and such, probably once every few months for that though.
