Fanfiction WTF Reviews
Don't get me wrong, I like those that HELP and point out the faults in it since I want to get better at writing. But honestly...
I received two reviews (one of them just now a few minutes ago) on one of my Sesshoumaru/Kagome stories, The Weird Swords, which was published back in 2006. I was STILL getting the hang of writing. The first I didn't even get an alert at all until I checked the anonymous reviews in the control panel. Some people delete reviews they do not like. What I do? Is different.
Take for instance this one that I just saw and read

Your grammar is in the dust. I am only on chapter one and I gave up. Get it read by a beta so it could be fixed.
My grammar is in the dust? Terrible? Into pieces? Oh really? Strange. Judge for yourself. I admit there are some bits that are a bit confusing but saying someone's grammar in the dust - as in HORRIBLY bad - is quite far. Yes, it's harsh criticism but being over dramatic is making you seem foolish to a T.
(Also, it's "so that it can be fixed".)
Interesting fact: I did get this beta read BUT I only uploaded that version to AdultFF.net. Oh yes, how HORRIBLE that I didn't revise the other.
The second one isn't so bad. In fact, it's what I like to see. But after you see something pointing out the THINGS you know about it's...tiring.

Gave the story a shot but I couldn't push myself through the rest of it. Your dialog is confusing your story structure is jumbled the idea was cool n all but the story still needs alot and emphasize ALOT of work.
The last bit is what really made me irritated. I'm the not best storyteller. I don't claim it nor do I WISH to be one. I still have troubles with writing despite English being my mother language and it's weird since I sometimes forget a word in between two words. Even a comma. My sentences structures are pretty bad too.
One of my friend's that beta read a kink meme fill I (see I just forgot that word er letter and put it in) last month said that my sentence structures were quite bad and I took that. I know my faults and will admit them.
What I'm irritated is that people still read and review my OLD stories. Even my first one which is HORRIBLY done. I wanted to delete it but some people like it still. No idea why.
I don't write anymore for the pairing like I used to since I soon got bored and tired of InuYasha because, at the time, nothing interesting was going on. In fact, the manga was STILL going (it's done now, has been for three years? Don't remember.) and I got into new series.
They send you these reviews not even bothering to realize just how OLD the story is. It's OLD. It's starting to smell on the server from rotting for so long. Of COURSE there will be errors. YES there will be shitty events. There will TOTALLY be one or more story that will grate on your mind with all the mistakes, makes you want to type up a review going "I can't take it. Your story NEEDS so and so".
I don't know why I'm so irritated. The fact that people don't get how I know the OLD STORY has mistakes or the fact that I hate it when people try to FORCE themselves to read something that they can't take and voice it on their reviews.
Maybe I'm way overreacting. I guess it hit a nerve like how one gets annoyed hearing the same damn thing every time on and on and on with some gaps between and then it pops out like damn hiccups.
