You know, I was so busy I forgot to proudly announce when I had burned enough calories to earn the Bronze Presidential Fitness Award. That was back at the beginning of July (02JUL10). That put me automatically about 50% of the way to the Silver. I am now at 76% of the way to Silver. Yay! Too bad no one else wants to play with me at the
President's Fitness Challenge. It's really not that hard... You might be slower than me if all you do is walk or clean house, but the hardest part is doing something and the second hardest part is logging it in.
Oi... I was soooo sore last night. I did a double with one of my good fitness instructors at the Y. She knows her stuff and she knows we like her to challenge us. So, last night was 45 minutes of spin, a 15 minute break in which I did some stretching and asked about that weird feeling in my foot from last week, then 25 minutes or so of cardio/legs, 25 minutes of stations, 5 minutes of abs, and some stretching. My poor legs were so very not happy with me. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do Week 2 Session 2 of my Couch to 5k today. I felt better after some food and two hours of television, so we'll see how I feel at lunch today. *smile*
Her first thought on the weird feeling in my foot (like my middle two toes had been replaced by a block of wood) was Plantar Fasciitis, but though it hurts it doesn't really hurt in the right places. Her second thought, and the theory that I'm more inclined to go with, is that equipment like the elliptical and the stationary bikes put pressure on the nerves in that area and don't let up (because your foot doesn't move) and that for some reason it's severe on that side for me. I did start to get that sensation again last night towards the end of the Spin class, so it kinda makes sense. She showed me a couple of stretches I can do for it so we'll see if that helps. If not, I guess I'll need to go to the doctor and verify that I can still do those types of exercise. I don't want to cause any permanent injury or damage!
Work was somewhat productive yesterday and looks to be the same today. The sun in shining, but our high today is only going to be 68F-70F (~20C). Brrr for August, but it might make good C-2-5k weather. The weekend is supposed to be gorgeous: sunny and low 80s (~27C). I think a bike ride might be calling my name. ^-^ And despite the lack of good sleep last night (despite how tired I was), I'm feeling okay. So, it should be a good day.
Off to eat breakfast while I work (slept in a few minutes this morning and didn't have time before I left the house) and get this day started. Hope everyone else is having as good a day or better!
