i took today off of work so i could have a daytime date with david the masseur. again, he stands me up. it's totally ok. there's always a 50% chance or more either one of us will stand the other up when we make a date, so i don't have any disappointment or animosity or feelings of rejection about it whatsoever. instead, i'm happy as a clam, hanging out at home with my dog, cleaning up the house and my computer, working on health and witchcraft projects and just generally being a human being and not an office drone.
because of my skin infection, a relatively harmless but majorly annoying viral thing called molluscum contagiosum, i had to order some herbal products online last night and today. i went a bit overboard with essential oils, but the ones i ordered that were essentially just impulse buys had low prices and i bought small quantities, so i have a bunch of new oils on order (thuja, black pepper, petitgrain, palmarosa, balsam peru, anise seed and thyme) and still spent less than $50 including shipping. i also ordered milk thistle and melissa tinctures. i think i'm going to end up having to re-order spilanthes and calendula by the beginning of next month, but right now i'm good.
the herbal solution i've been using on the skin problem isn't quite right, so i did a bit of research online and have changed the essential oil mixture i'm using as an external by adding single parts of five more oils (bergamot, lemon grass, eucalyptus, hyssop and lavendar) to the original mixture (four parts each tea tree, patchouli, lemon and one part cinnamon leaf) . it makes me smell less like a hippy, which i kind of like. but the main thing is that it now includes a set of oils that have a different type of anti-viral property, so hopefully they will break down the bumps faster and more thoroughly.
i had taken a few days off of the essential oils and the bumps got a lot bigger and redder, so i'm really convinced of the effectiveness of using this mixture. one of the reasons was that the oils keep the skin area moist and the virus thrives in moisture, so i was hoping that just using some tea tree and grape seed extract infused powder would be a good alternative. i don't think that was the best idea. i've got to find a way to apply the powder after the oils without smearing it all everywhere...
when the melissa tincture gets here, that's going to go into the internal component as well. i'm going to add a single part of it to that mixture for its antiviral/immuno-stimulative properties. the new formula will be three parts milk thistle, two parts each spilanthes and calendula and one part each skullcap and melissa. i'm hoping the melissa's antiviral properties will be the catalyst for a major jump in effectiveness. we shall see how it all goes.
was hoping that my shipment of resins from otherworld apothecary was going to show up in the mail today, but that didn't happen. i'm getting antsy about it without any tracking information available to me. can't even begin to get antsy about the dittany of crete oil yet, as it will most likely not even be in the united states till the end of the week or later. such are the vagaries of international post from crete...
