the spirit cannot fail you

this has been a weekend of spirit. i repeated the first day of the silva method basic course yesterday down in anaheim. drove down with my silva friend paula and we chatted and checked in and all of that stuff. at the course, i saw several other fellow grads that i had taken courses with before and met lots of new folks as well. i had really needed an update because i'd been feeling really shut down lately. it was a great pick me up.

after the course session, we drove back to the valley and i set up a bunch of computer and wi-fi stuff for paula then we went to vitello's for a nice italian dinner. after that i came home and puttered around the house a bit before having a nice little meditation and then off to the land of nod. my dreams were good, but didn't really stick. it was more like a small version of download dreams.

this morning, i had my first georgian tradition lesson with marla--via skype. my old friend mike, who is a georgian 2nd under marla participated as well. plus there was a hello session with gypsey. it was all wonderful. great to have new insights about the witch power and the religion.

the georgian lessons are simple and yet very deep. marla is a good teacher, she knows how to ask good questions of her students and she exudes love and confidence. of course, our having been friends for like 15 years is a good thing for building student/teacher rapport, too. i liked what mike had to say as well. it's so great to have other folks to check in with about experiences, ideas, philosophy, magick, etc...

just as the course session was ending, i got a phone call from apollon mk. he wanted to have coffee, chat and go out into the woods. we did all three. it's great to have him in my life. he has given so much and been such an incredible friend, brother and high priest. he inspires me to be better than i am and he makes me think about what i feel i know.

we had a coffee and chat at peet's, then back to my place for some discussion of minoan book stuff and then off to a very woodsy and moutainous park in la crescenta. it was nice to go walking around in the woods with boulders and brush and grasses and everything and to feel the energies of nature and smell the aromas of plants and all. all in all, it was a very deep and affecting morning/mid-day we spent together. my only regret is that i didn't take my little doggie to the park with us, but having never been to that park before, i didn't know if it would be allowed. well, it is and she would have loved it, so i'll have to take her there soon.

after that, we went our separate ways. i walked the doggie again and then went and ran a few errands.

right now, i'm getting ready to go to the west hollywood version of the la county queer pagan meetup group i organize. some of the regulars won't be there because it's oscar night, but a bunch of new people rsvp'd yes, so we shall see. i have a tub of brownie bites and a bunch of peanuts in the shell to share with everyone and have already packed a couple of books for people to look at (myths and mysteries of same sex love by christine downing and gay testaments: old & new by bela dornon). i'm gonna take my renaissance tarot deck (the one by bryan williams) and possibly the elemental tarot as well.

the last meetup session we had that i attended, the one in pasadena, was absolutely great. we had a bunch of new people who had really a lot to contribute. several of them should be at the weho meetup today as well and i'm looking forward to seeing how that's going to change the group dynamic. the weho meeting is fun, but tends to be really unfocused and it seems like we could all get more out of it if we settled down and really chatted a bit more than just having fun and making jokes (which are obviously not bad things...).

spirituality, minoan brotherhood, georgian tradition, silva method, witchcraft, meetups
