[a very irate Italian man is now wandering clueless about the town, glaring almightily and looking about ready to punch anybody who gets too close - ie within a ten-metre radius. Eventually he stops outside the city hall and just glares around, ranting]What the fuck is going on in this shithole? When I find the scum who put me here and messed

Oi. I know where you can get free drinks. Take it easy and listen to what I have to tell you about your situation right now, and I'll escort you. Only after that, though.

All you remember is your name, right? That's how I showed up here, too. It's how everyone showed up. None of us know how we got here, and there's currently no way to go home of your own will.
*motions to city hall, the surrounding buildings* This whole town was built by people brought here the same as you. They found a way to get by, and most here agree that that's for the best.
The silver lining is that your memories will return gradually. I've recovered a good deal of mine, for example.

Hnn. Well, fuck it. If I'm here, I'm here, and I'll just have to find a way to get back to...wherever the hell I was before.
You mentioned something about a drink.

If you insist, then... The bar. *slight jerk of his head to follow him as he walks* Newcomers get 'em on the house. *i.e. Ginko has lots of money and likes to give newcomers a good impression of their new home, if that's what it'll take!*

If anything, it's not who, but "what" you should be asking holds the power here. The answer to that would be magic, plain and simple. Life around here can change in the blink of an eye, though strange phenomena have been slowing down recently... Just prepare yourself for more surprises in general.
*hey it's the bar~! with a nice friendly buff NPC bouncer at the door. Ginko pays him no mind, holding the door open for Xanxus* Come on in.
(( It's a bar, yay! Traditional bar in general I'd say. Except for there's a stage off to one side... with polls on it. >>; One of the jobs available here is 'Stripper'~ 8D ))

*ignores the bouncer and stage, heading straight to the bar*
What about money? I'm guessing nothing's for free, tax-exemption aside. They sell whiskey here??

he follows, holding up two fingers for the bartender* Whiskey!
*fishing out his wallet* You pay for everything extra outside of room & board, and that's provided by the town to help newcomers like yourself. I'll take you to Ari Apartments after we're done here.
*looks sidelong at Xanxus as their drinks are brought to them* ...Hopefully you'll get a room to yourself. *he wonders what would happen if he were paired up with someone like Ike, or Tsubasa, or any of the other mild-mannered folks there...*
(( OOC: *Devil May Cry Dante. it was exciting 8D ))

Hnn. So I have to find a way to get money here, huh? Shouldn't be hard.
*leans on the bar* Whoever's in charge of this dump better hope I get a room to myself, too. Like fuck I'm living with some stray piece of trash.

Not hard at all. I haven't heard of any place turning down an application so far. They provide all the training you need, so don't worry about your lack of memory for any education or training you may or may not have.
*rolls his eye a little*
...A word of warning. Some magic of the island is predictable; there are residents who can attest to getting cursed by the magic of the island in retaliation for...misusing the accommodations here, specifically the apartments. The curses are temporary, but still unpleasant.
*takes a bigger swig, ugh this guy, what has the apartment got in store for them...*

Anything else I should know about? In case this freaky shithole 'curses' me for being a bad little boy?

The patrolmen here are diligent, but won't do much more than give people warnings for disturbing the peace as long as it stays non-violent. They're a respectable bunch, though.

*eyes his bloodied suit shirt with almost amusement* So what's the punishment for violence, then? Standard?

It depends on if the victim presses charges, but most people here don't want to bring the law into it unless they don't have to. *Ginko included!* There is a jail, though.

*feeling a bit more civil after a drink apparently*
