Musings on the end of an era in television...

Or, a few last notes on 24, from a rabid fan.

Back when "24" first started, I was skeptical, at best; a show in "real time"? Didn't see how it could work, but I was willing to give it a chance, given the star. Kiefer didn't let me down - he had me hooked in the first 2 minutes, and I've been glued to the set ever since. Occasionally white-knuckled on the edge of my seat, too. It's been an awesome 8 seasons. Yes, they jumped the shark now & then, but it's always been escapist fiction at its finest. I'm sorry to see it end, but I can see the wisdom in going out at the top of your game.

That having been said, I'm not watching the finale tonight...I'm saving it for tomorrow. See, Himself and I are wrasslin' fans, and Raw airs at the same time as 24, so we usually record the show. I'm avoiding all spoilers, teasers, reviews, and film clips - no matter how great the temptation. Which is massive. When he gets home tomorrow, it's game on. Or, rather, show on. The bit of info that has managed to sneak through says it's a stunner. Can't wait. I'm hoping it will leave me feeling the same way I do when the sex is done...giddy, exhausted, quivery, sorry it's over, stunned and thinking "WOW". Ok, that's a lot for a tv show to live up to, but if any can do it, this one can. Hey, it's not like I'm expecting to feel loved - just rocked. :)

It's been a hell of a ride...and I'm looking forward to the final twists & turns.
