"Sounds like you're trying to get away from this world before you've even lived completely."
It's 100% completely the opposite. I would hate to die anytime soon, not because of myself or fear, I would be ashamed that I had not yet done enough to help others, or saved enough people. But if you live completely in the now with no regard for the future of where you are headed, it is like staring at the ground when you're walking. "Didn't see that cliff coming." And looking ahead and behind are the best ways to improve upon yourself, learn from the past and try to apply to the future.
I've tried talking to Matt about these things, and the problem is that the truths are so evident to me that I couldn't begin to explain them. Everything that I've told Matt about #1 is straight from the Bible, which contrary to what people say, is not just a good book, or a great story.
Neither is Christ merely a good guy. He's either right, and he is the son of God, or he's a liar, or he's crazy. He can't be just a good guy, but he had that slight problem with thinking that he was God. Or, He spoke the greatest moral code EVER, but he had that slight lying problem. And yes Jesus and all of the events described in the Bible are historically sound. He existed as (scientists are finding) did all of those from the Bible as well as the events described therein.
The problem with Heaven is that there is one road, and of that I can guarentee. So if you're on a different one, you can bet it's not leading to Heaven. In fact that are many many roads, all that do lead to the same place, but there is one road that is different from the others that leads to heaven, all others to hell.
You know what...I'd give you reasons why you're wrong or making premature assumptions about things that you can't even begin to understand...but I won't waste my time. What's the point? In your mind you're right and no matter what I say, that isn't going to change. I do believe that faith in a higher power is a good thing, but it often serves to cloud the minds of followers. Everyone is right and yet no one thinks they are wrong. How can this be? Obviously the club called heaven is very selective in whom it lets in and you must be on the VIP list.
I have only one question...how do you know that there is only one road into heaven? If I read the bible religously and don't make any assumptions of who to believe in and live as it says...why should I burn in hell? I guess when you follow a God that for so many years was vengeful (Old Testiment) and then somehow changed his mind and became more loving and compassionate (New Testiment), this may make sense.
"I'd give you reasons why you're wrong or making premature assumptions about things that you can't even begin to understand...but I won't waste my time."
.... wow so hostile, and not at all necessary. What wouldn't I even begin to understand? Go ahead, really.
And that last point is silly. God was never vengeful, he was righteous and still is righteous. He always gave us what we needed when we needed it. He didn't change his mind, he always loved us, but it only ever became embodied and visible when Christ arrived on Earth. That was how He showed his love, how else could He? Sky write?

Two questions. 1. Do you honestly believe what you just said? 2. If there is one right way, why not the most credible and certainly longest lasting religion? Because some humans mistakenly did bad things in God's name... that's God's fault?
