Despite everything, I think I'm becoming used to this job, along with every thing it entails. No, it's not quite the same as actually loving the job, but I don't think of it as half as bad as I used to. And I think the parts where those used to come from were largely because I was afraid of Ant's disapproval. With that safely out the way, I don't have reason to hate the job. It feeds me, gives me the Loft, and the tips are exceptionally good too. Brad says nobody ever rises this quickly without backlash, but in my opinion, I've had to pay for this job more than it pays me. It cost me Ant.
I don't think of it as lying, this concealment of facts. It's fairly easy to evade the questions Ant has. I am still mixing drinks. Just not as often now. They don't pay nearly as much as dancing does. And no tips. It's not materialistic, but pragmatic. And Byron has a healthy appetite for one so small in size. He's growing at an incredible rate too. The only complaints I might have would be the riduculously gaudy things they make us wear. I've never used so much glitter my entire life. Hell, I've never used it before this. In a way it's good Ant left. I don't think he'd like me very much dressed like this (whatever miserable pieces of cloth put together they make us wear). And the other of course, the hands on my arse when they tuck the bills in. But it's not nearly as bad as Ant would undoubtedly think. The place seems to only admit males of a certain calibre. So it's not like I have to fend off old and ugly men every night. Some are actually pretty cute. I've had offers. Sometimes they get a little annoyed when I tell them I'm not interested. It's a good thing Brad's always there whenever that happens. I don't know how he knows, especially without magic. He just does. Brad says it's my hair. It makes me stand out. Not a lot of people have such a fine blond colour. And that's not just my ego talking.
I'm thinking of dyeing my hair. No charms. It's a muggle method. What colour should I get? I always thought dark-haired blokes were the cutest.
