WSB, in his book Ghost of Chance, proposes that man's propensity for language, the ability to convey thought, image, and word to others (peers and future generations) is in some way part of the root of man's problems (war, hate, murder, perversion, tool use, weapons, etc). He then asked a simple, yet profound question:
What would a wordless world be like?
Indeed, what would such a world be like? Communication would be forced to change dramatically. Why, without words, we'd actually have to listen to each other!
I think that, in a world without words, communication would revert to a pictographic system much like the Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Evolution is movement forward, progress; devolution is movement backwards, reversion, a move back to the cosmic sludge.
We are--Life is--evolution, a move forward. So, I say revert, yet mean this: "revert" to image, yet progress to telepathic communication. Everyone, to some degree, experiences telepathic moments even now.
I see a wordless world being part of the promised land, the future of this Earth--that is, if we don't destroy Her first. It is also probable, and far more likely that the earth will destroy us before we have a chance to destroy Her.
But a wordless world. Quite different then the accepted Judeo-Christian myth. And God said. In the beginning was the Word. It is my feeling that "said" and "word" referred to here is mankind's closest approximation to some manner of telepathic exchange.
Mind over matter, sending out your wish and will into the universe. The Law of Threefold Return: whatever you send out will return upon you three times stronger than it was.
The Golden Rule states "Do to others what you'd like them to do to you." This is only half of the story. The other half being the "why?" of the whole issue.
Why treat someone else like I want to be treated?
Why should I be nice to someone who is not nice to me?
Isn't eye for an eye a valid guide?
No. The Law of Three is the 2nd half of The Golden Rule. You need to send positivity to others because it will come back to you. If you treat another badly, it will bite you in the ass. You give your sister a paper cut, and you get ground up in a meat grinder.
And, why be nice to others, even when they are less than kind to you? Because there is only one person--one soul. Why do harm to your own body, mind, and spirit?
Why not share with the less fortunate? Why not give of your wealth to those who have less? Why not smother another with kindess? Why not love the sick, the dying, the homeless, the crippled, the bigoted, the fanatic, your executioner? For I say unto you, whatever you do for the most repelling of these, you do for yourself. Whatever you do to these, your fellow humans, you do to yourself.
Feed, you will be fed.
Clothe, you will be clothed.
Listen, you will be heard.
Comfort, you will be comforted.
Hate, and you will be hated.
Starve, and you will hunger.
Oppress, and you will be enslaved.
Kill, and you yourself shall die.
