Youtube is going insane methinks
I'm upset on behalf of someone I don't really know.
ponyboy's music videos apparently got one lunatic bitching and youtube didn't just take the video down, they suspended the whole account. >> That's bullshit. A lot of companies don't care that much about fanvids. I used FUNimation as an example in a comment. They know about music videos. They had all episodes removed from youtube (it's kinda their livelihood, so I don't blame 'em a bit) but left music videos and short clips up. The music videos don't steal money, hell, they are practically free advertising. People aren't making money off of them and they certainly are not a substitute for watching the movie/show, since it doesn't really tell the same story (it can sort of tell a bit of the story, but again, hardly a substitute).
All in all, that's a load of shit. Seriously, wtf.
I'm also wickedly defensive because ponyboy and mrbnatural are the two icon and video makers of iconzicons and are flat out two of the coolest people out there. They make awesome icons, are fans of the coolest things ever, make icons for both the well known and obscure things in life... Hello, Audrey Hepburn icon posts, Sharon Tate, The NeverEnding Story, Return to Oz... and so on. Dude, I love these people. Youtube should not mess with people I like.
