Step 1: Finish the novel

I learn so much from fandom wank. You know aside from the pointing and laughing at people on the internet they do actually contain a wealth of information. I didn’t know how to make vanilla extract using vodka and now I do thanks for Fandom Wank. And from a little wank recently, I learned a little bit more about the publishing industry.

I would like to have a book published. I don’t think I’ll get rich from it but I would just like it published honestly. In my wildest dreams, I would like to have a fandom but as positive and optimistic as I am, I am also a realist and frankly would just be happy getting a book published. If a fandom developed form that it would just be amazing and amusing.

However, there are certain steps to getting a book published and one of them is actually finishing the book. Gah, actually having to do work! What hell! Well not really when I was looking at this list of steps on how to get published, step one was “finish the book”. My reply to that was along the lines of: “um…duh?” Of course you would have to finish the book before getting published. Or even before getting rejected at the least. So, I’m even further behind then the people getting rejection letters right now.

I do have an idea though. I’ve been sitting on it for years. Told a couple people about it and they were really encouraging but I never have actually taken the time to sit down and write it. I really would like to write and be paid for it. I really would like to gain a modicum of success from it. So, why haven’t I written down this very detailed idea I have?
