Why does it matter if an actor/actress is gay/lesbian/whatever for the role he/she plays? We don't question if "straight" actors can play gay/lesbian/etc. Or do we ever

This stupid, narrow-minded thinking makes me so angry. Whenever I have a conversation with friends/family like "Ha, that actor is soooo gay, he can't snog this girl properly ..." I can only snap at the one saying this. It's so sad that some people can't seperate/distinguish (?) between person and actor ...

Well, it's only an issue if the person is a bad actor anyway. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with acting skill...
